The film 'The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond' is slated for release on February 27, generating significant social media attention due to its controversial nature. Contrary to expectations for adult-only viewing, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has issued it a U/A 16+ certificate.
However, the CBFC requested 16 modifications, notably reducing visuals of kissing by 7 seconds and rape scenes by 20 seconds, each by 50%. Other changes included shortening scenes of physical assault and modifying visuals of a bulldozer demolishing a house. Three dialogues were altered, and one word was muted.
Makers were also instructed to include a disclaimer affirming the film is based on true events, with its duration extended by over two minutes and accompanied by a voice-over. The CBFC required script submission and documentation supporting the claim of true events, along with a consent letter for a minor artist's casting.
Following these adjustments, the film received its censor certificate on February 16. 'The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond' has a final runtime of 131 minutes and 24 seconds. Produced by Vipul Shah and directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, the film stars Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia, and Aishwarya Ojha.
