Kerala Celebrates Legendary Actor Mohanlal's Dadasaheb Phalke Award

On October 5th, 2025, the Kerala government held a special felicitation ceremony in Thiruvananthapuram to honor renowned actor Mohanlal after he received the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, regarded as the highest recognition in Indian cinema. The event, attended by state ministers, filmmakers, and artists, celebrated Mohanlal's immense contribution to Indian and Malayalam cinema.

The ceremony highlighted Mohanlal's four-decade career, spanning over 340 films across several languages, and his status as a leading figure in the arts. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who presented the felicitation, described the actor as "the pride of every Malayali," praising his ability to portray diverse characters and referencing his acclaimed performance in 'Vanaprastham,' which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival.

In his address, Mohanlal expressed profound gratitude for the honor, stating, "This is the land where I was born and raised. Its air, its buildings, its memories are part of my soul." He emphasized that the award is a collective tribute to the Malayalam film industry's creativity, legacy, and resilience, and pledged to continue his journey with responsibility.
