The Kerala International Folk Festival commenced on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Police Parade Ground in Thycaud, T'puram. General education minister V Sivankutty inaugurated the event, organized by the Kerala Folklore Academy. The festival is scheduled to run until Monday, February 9, 2026, offering free entry to all attendees.
The vibrant celebration features a rich tapestry of cultural expressions. Visitors can experience folk dances from six different foreign countries and explore handicraft stalls. Additionally, the festival presents folk art forms from 16 Indian states and traditional performing arts representing all districts of Kerala. A National Tribal Festival is also a highlight, alongside 80 national handicraft product stalls.
