The 30th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) is set to commence in Thiruvananthapuram from December 12 to 19, with significant international participation. Esteemed Iranian filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof, currently in exile, has been appointed as the jury chair for the international competition, bringing a poignant global perspective to the event. His presence highlights the festival's commitment to diverse cinematic voices.
The festival's opening night will feature Palestinian filmmaker Annemarie Jacir's "Palestine 36," setting a tone of poignant storytelling. Adding to the gala, Mauritanian filmmaker Abderrahmane Sissako will be honored with the festival's Lifetime Achievement Award, celebrating his impactful contributions to cinema over the years. Five of his acclaimed works will be showcased.
