Kentucky Opera Returns Home with Stellar 2026-27 Season

The Kentucky Opera has announced its highly anticipated 2026-27 season, which includes four mainstage productions. This season marks a significant return to the Brown Theatre, a homecoming occurring one year ahead of schedule.
The opera company will open its season in October with Gioachino Rossini's comic opera, "The Barber of Seville." This will be followed in November by "Cotton," a contemporary work by visual artist John E. Dowell, featuring poetry by Nikki Giovanni and others.
In March 2027, audiences can enjoy Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Così fan tutte." The season will conclude in May 2027 with Richard Strauss's "Salome," presented in a semi-staged production in collaboration with the Louisville Orchestra.
In addition to these mainstage events, the Kentucky Opera will host various auxiliary events, including the Louisville Juneteenth Jubilee Commission's Annual Celebration, Evenings of Note, SongWeek, and a Holiday Cabaret. A new Kentucky Opera Supper Club series is also being launched.
