The lawsuit states that Thompson entered into a 12-month lease in September, with rent set at $10,250 per month starting October 1. However, the landlord alleges that Thompson breached the lease, resulting in $17,425 in unpaid rent for November and December.
Furthermore, the landlord claims they incurred costs due to difficulty finding a replacement tenant. Thompson is reportedly liable for $15,750 representing the difference in rent over the remainder of the 12-month lease period. Additional claims include an $871 late fee, a $9,594 broker fee, and $1,000 in legal fees.
