Kelsea Ballerini Releases Reflective Single "I Sit in Parks" Ahead of New EP
7 Nov
Summary
- Kelsea Ballerini drops new single "I Sit in Parks"
- Upcoming EP "Mount Pleasant" set for November 14 release
- Ballerini's relationship with Chase Stokes ended recently

On November 7, 2025, country music star Kelsea Ballerini unveiled a new single, "I Sit in Parks," which will be featured on her upcoming EP, "Mount Pleasant," set for release on November 14, 2025. The vulnerable, contemplative song sees Ballerini reflecting on what she wants but may never have, with lyrics like "I sit in parks/ It breaks my heart 'cause I see just how far I am/ From the things that I want."
The 32-year-old artist noted that the EP's title, "Mount Pleasant," refers to the South Carolina town where the Netflix series "Outer Banks" is filmed. This connection is significant, as earlier this fall, Ballerini and "Outer Banks" star Chase Stokes confirmed they had ended their relationship after more than two years together. This life change may have inspired the introspective tracks on "Mount Pleasant."
Ballerini has stated that she creates music to capture a moment in time, and this latest EP is a "collection of six songs [she's] written throughout the summer, marking a chapter of heavy self-examination, longing, and stepping further into who [she is] as a 32-year-old woman." With the release of "I Sit in Parks" and the upcoming "Mount Pleasant" EP, Ballerini is inviting her fans to join her on this personal journey of growth and self-discovery.
