Pickler Blocks In-Laws' Estate Subpoena

Singer Kellie Pickler has successfully halted a subpoena from her in-laws concerning her late husband Kyle Jacobs' estate. Two years after Jacobs' death, a Tennessee judge sided with Pickler, quashing the subpoena issued by his parents, Reed and Sharon Jacobs. The court found the subpoena unusual, noting it sought numerous tangible items rather than easily supplied documents.

The legal dispute centers on personal property belonging to Kyle Jacobs, a veteran country songwriter who died by suicide in February 2023. Pickler had declined to be administrator of his estate, leading to a feud with his parents over various assets. Among the disputed items are Jacobs' extensive gun collection, watches, jewelry, and electronic devices.

Pickler's legal team argued that some requested items were not in her possession or had disputed ownership, also raising concerns about the legality of transporting firearms. While the judge blocked the current subpoena, the Jacobses may pursue further action. Pickler previously sold the home she shared with Jacobs for $2.3 million.
