KeiyaA's Boundary-Pushing 'Hooke's Law' Blends Genres in Captivating Cycle

In the past 5 years, Chicago-born, New York-based singer and producer KeiyaA has been working on her second studio album, 'Hooke's Law'. The record, named after the law of elasticity, is an expansive, head-spinning collage of R&B, electronic, jazz, and experimental music that threatens to uncoil at any minute.

KeiyaA wrote, recorded, and produced the new material entirely on her own, with one feature from rapper Rahrah Gabor. The album, she explains, is "about the journey of self love, from an angle that isn't all affirmations and capitalistic self-care." Rather than a linear story with a moral, 'Hooke's Law' is more of a cycle, a spiral—reflecting the very law it's named after.
