The series features acclaimed actress Kate Mulgrew as Nora Savage, a seasoned NYPD detective attempting to find solace in the west of Ireland after a traumatic past. Her pursuit of peace is abruptly interrupted by the discovery of a young woman's body in a bog.
This discovery plunges Detective Savage into a complex murder investigation alongside the local Garda team. The ensemble cast includes prominent Irish actors such as Colm Meaney, John Connors, India Mullen, Cillian O'Sullivan, and Jack Rowan. The show's premise originated from a conversation between Mulgrew and writer Eithne Verling during a chance encounter in Galway.
Directed by Joe Lawlor and Christine Molloy, 'The Galway Bay Murders' is produced by STV Studios-backed Two Cities Television, Keeper Pictures, and AS I AM Productions. ITV Studios is handling international distribution for the series, which was previously known as 'The Yank.'
