11 Mar
Summary
- Film chamber addresses complaints of actresses filmed indecently.
- Digital media and PROs assured no such content will be posted.
- Repeat offenders face cybercrime complaints and legal action.

The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) has implemented strict measures against paparazzi and online content creators due to inappropriate filming of actresses at public events. This action follows public expressions of concern from actresses like Sapthami Gowda, who reported being filmed from indecent and humiliating angles.
On March 9, a meeting was convened by KFCC president Jayamala with industry stakeholders, including actors and digital media representatives. Following a written complaint highlighting the issue, assurances were given that such content would cease to be published.
The Chamber emphasized that event publicists and those granting media access would be held responsible for future incidents. It was stated that any recurrence would lead to formal complaints with cybercrime authorities, potentially resulting in legal consequences.
Representatives from digital media platforms and the PRO fraternity pledged to cease posting objectionable material and confirmed that already uploaded inappropriate content had been removed. This move signals a commitment to greater accountability and respect for the privacy and dignity of film artistes.
