Saifeena's Live-In: Kareena Kapoor Recalls Bold Decision

Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan's relationship, often dubbed 'Saifeena,' began attracting attention long before their 2012 marriage.

The couple reportedly lived together for nearly five years prior to wedding, a choice considered unconventional during that period.

Kareena recalled on the 'Humans of Bombay' platform how their relationship started on the sets of 'Tashan,' highlighting Saif's positive influence on her. She described him as someone who helped her heal and learn to balance life.

Saif initiated the idea of moving in, citing that at his age, he couldn't keep dropping her home nightly. He informed Kareena's mother, who was supportive of their decision to live together.

The decision did raise some eyebrows, especially given Kareena's prominent Kapoor family background, but she maintained her honesty about it.

Kareena viewed cohabitation before marriage as a practical approach, particularly within the film industry, comparing it to trying-and-testing a relationship.

Her sister, Karisma Kapoor, initially surprised, came to accept Kareena's choice, recognizing her sister's emotional intelligence and instinct for making wise decisions.

Sharmila Tagore, Saif's mother, shared her amusement on 'Koffee with Karan' regarding Kareena's natural disclosure of their living situation to her guests in Delhi.

Tagore contrasted this with her own experience living with Tiger Pataudi before marriage, where such a situation would have been a closely guarded secret.

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor have two sons, Taimur Ali Khan, born in December 2016, and Jeh Ali Khan, born in February 2021.
