Karan Johar has officially announced that his film centered on Rameshwar Nath Kao, the founder of India's external intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW), will be released on August 11, 2028. This announcement follows the project's initial unveiling in January 2020.

The upcoming biopic draws its narrative from Nitin Gokhale's acclaimed book, 'Gentleman Spymaster.' It aims to explore the significant contributions of R.N. Kao, who established R&AW in 1968 and led the agency until 1977.
