Kanye West Apologizes to SNL's Michael Che Years After Heated Confrontation

In a recent interview, Michael Che, the co-anchor of "Weekend Update" on Saturday Night Live, revealed that rapper Kanye West had apologized to him for a confrontation that occurred during one of West's guest appearances on the show back in 2018.

According to Che, the incident happened after West went on stage and delivered a last-minute rant, during which he made a comment that Che felt was directed at him. Che confronted West in the hallway, saying, "I'm the Black comedian that made a joke about Cosby. That's f---ed up. Why'd you do that to me?"

The two had a heated exchange, with rapper Consequence, who was standing behind Che, asking the comedian to cool down and "reconvene in a second." Che said he didn't speak to West again until years later, at Eddie Murphy's SNL Christmas episode in 2022.

At the event, which was attended by many of the biggest names in Hollywood, Che was busy running around backstage when he ran into West. To Che's surprise, West immediately apologized, saying, "I owe you an apology." The two then talked, and Che said he never brought up the incident again.
