Just 10 days after its release on October 1, 2025, Rishab Shetty's Kantara Chapter 1 has emerged as a box office sensation in the Hindi belt. The epic period mythological action drama has already accumulated an impressive 131.57 crore net in the Hindi language, making it the highest-grossing film in the Kantara franchise.
The film's success has been nothing short of remarkable. Kantara Chapter 1 has already surpassed the lifetime earnings of the original Kantara, which earned 81.10 crores back in 2022. Additionally, the prequel has now become the 8th highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025, knocking down the likes of Jolly LLB 3 and Sikandar.
The good news doesn't end there. Kantara Chapter 1 has also managed to surpass the lifetime earnings of the blockbuster Baahubali: The Beginning, which earned 120 crores in the Hindi belt. This feat has now made the Kantara prequel the 10th highest-grossing Hindi-dubbed South film of all time at the Indian box office.
