Kantara Nears 500 Crore Milestone, Targets Top 10 Worldwide

As of October 11, 2025, Rishab Shetty's Kantara Chapter 1 has emerged as a true box office sensation, grossing a staggering 475.37 crore globally in just 8 days. The film is now inching closer to the coveted 500 crore mark and is set to achieve this milestone in the coming days.

Kantara Chapter 1 has already become the second-highest-grossing Kannada film at the worldwide box office, trailing only behind the juggernaut that is KGF Chapter 2. Rishab Shetty's creation has now set its sights on an even more ambitious target - breaking into the list of the top 10 highest-grossing Indian films globally.

To achieve this feat, Kantara Chapter 1 needs to earn an additional 401.47 crore, which would push the current 10th spot holder, Ranbir Kapoor's Animal, out of the coveted list. If Rishab Shetty's film manages to accomplish this, it will become only the second Kannada movie, after KGF Chapter 2, to find a place among the top 10 highest-grossing Indian films worldwide.

The film's remarkable performance has been driven by its strong domestic collections, which have already crossed the 300 crore mark in India across all languages. Additionally, the overseas market has also contributed significantly, with the film grossing 78.3 crore in the international markets in just 8 days.
