The Kannada police drama 'Usiru' has now made the transition from theaters to streaming, arriving on the OTT platform SunNXT on November 21, 2025. Directed by debutant Panem Prabhakar, the thriller explores themes of faith, trauma, and revenge through two parallel narratives.
On one side, the film follows Raj, a cop played by Tilak Shekar, who begins investigating a series of strange crimes involving the deaths of pregnant women. As he delves deeper into the case, Raj realizes the murders are timed to coincide with his own wife's expected delivery date, adding a personal urgency to the investigation.
Running parallel to this is the journey of Surya, a troubled youngster portrayed by Santhosh Nadivada. Scarred by the murder of his parents, Surya lands in prison as a teenager for attempted killing. However, his life takes a turn under the guidance of a kind prison officer and the officer's daughter, Siri. After his release, Surya embarks on a quest to uncover the truth behind his past, leading him into dangerous territory as he seeks justice.
The two storylines eventually converge, tying together the themes of revenge, fear, and second chances. The supporting cast, including Priya Hegde, Raaghu Ramanakoppa, and Apoorva Nagaraj, adds depth to the emotional and investigative aspects of the film.
Even though 'Usiru' received mixed reviews during its theatrical run, the OTT platform may provide it with a better audience. Viewers who enjoy suspense dramas with parallel narratives and strong emotional layers are likely to find the film a worthwhile watch.
