Kamal Haasan's Ex-Wife Slams 'Obsessed' Actor

Vani Ganapathy, renowned dancer and former wife of actor Kamal Haasan, has responded to allegations made by her ex-husband. In a 2015 interview, Haasan claimed Ganapathy left him on the verge of bankruptcy. Ganapathy, who was married to Haasan from 1978 to 1988, stated she had refrained from discussing their private affairs for 28 years post-divorce.

Addressing Haasan's statements, Ganapathy called him an 'obsessed man' and questioned his motives for bringing up their past. She clarified that while alimony was involved, the specifics were private and did not cause his alleged bankruptcy. She highlighted that Haasan even refused to give her used appliances from their shared home.

Ganapathy further asserted that Haasan's claims of financial ruin due to alimony were untrue, suggesting his ego was wounded when she ended the marriage. She revealed that Haasan was adept at using his charm to avoid direct answers and escape difficult situations. The dancer also wished to correct any perception that her wealth was solely derived from alimony. Following their divorce, Haasan entered a live-in relationship with actress Sarika, with whom he has two daughters.
