Kalyani Priyadarshan's Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra has been enjoying a glorious run at the UAE box office. As of October 11, 2025, the Malayalam dark fantasy superhero film has successfully completed 44 days in theaters and broken a string of records.
Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra has now surpassed L2: Empuraan to register the second-highest footfalls of all time for a South film in the UAE. The film has achieved staggering admissions of over 510,000, making it the only Malayalam movie to have crossed that milestone in the region.
In addition, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra has also registered the second-highest ticket sales for a South film in the UAE, trailing only behind Prabhas' Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which holds the record for the highest admissions of all time. This is another significant achievement for Dominic Arun's directorial, which was released in theaters worldwide on August 28, 2025.
Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra is not only a box office success in the UAE, but also the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time in India and globally. Producer Dulquer Salmaan is now working on the sequel, Lokah Chapter 2, featuring Tovino Thomas in the leading role.
