Established in 1926, the Kalyan Gayan Samaj is celebrating its centenary, marking a remarkable 100 years of dedicated service to classical music. The organization is commemorating this milestone with the Devgandharva Festival, scheduled from December 12 to 14 at Atre Rangmandir in Kalyan. This special year also signifies the 25th anniversary of the festival itself and the Sahasra-Chandradarshani year for its Dinkar Sangeet Vidyalaya.
The Samaj has played a pivotal role in strengthening Kalyan's cultural landscape, presenting over 1,000 programs and featuring more than 1,700 artists throughout its history. It has trained approximately 12,000 students through its music school, fostering a deep appreciation for classical arts. Renowned artists like Pt. Venkatesh Kumar and Ustad Shahid Parvez are set to perform at the upcoming festival.
