Summary
- Jeon So Mi and her beauty brand reported to police for violating Red Cross Act
- Alleged use of Red Cross emblem without permission in promotional materials
- Potential fine of up to 10 million KRW if found guilty

As of November 8th, 2025, former K-pop idol Jeon So Mi and her beauty brand have found themselves in hot water over the alleged unauthorized use of the official Red Cross emblem. According to reports, a complaint was filed with the Seoul Seongdong Police Station on November 7th, accusing both Jeon So Mi and her cosmetics company of violating the Korean Red Cross Organization Act.
The complaint claims that the parties used the Red Cross symbol in their promotional materials without obtaining the necessary permission. This is said to be in violation of Article 25 of the Act, which states that the improper use of the emblem can result in a fine of up to 10 million KRW.
The Red Cross has expressed concern that the repeated commercial use of their symbol, without proper authorization, could dilute its original meaning and undermine the trust and neutrality of the organization's humanitarian efforts. They emphasized that the emblem is designed to protect medical and relief personnel during crises, and its misuse could shake the foundation of the international humanitarian protection system.
In response to the allegations, both Jeon So Mi's company and the idol herself have issued apologies. The company has stated that all products featuring the disputed emblem have been recalled from the market, and the design production has been halted. They have also assured the public that they will be more cautious with their future product releases.
