London's National Theatre is set to stage a new adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's "The Jungle Book," with performances scheduled from November 13, 2026, to February 6, 2027. Olivier Award winner Hiran Abeysekera has been cast in the role of Mowgli, leading an ensemble of acclaimed actors.
Anupama Chandrasekhar, known for "The Father and the Assassin," has penned the script for this new production. The adaptation shifts the story's setting to the vibrant and perilous mangroves of India's Sundarbans region. Indhu Rubasingham is directing the play, promising a theatrical event with striking puppetry.
