Julión Álvarez, a prominent figure in regional Mexican music and dubbed "El Rey de la Taquilla," has unveiled his new EP, "Ranchero de Corazón." Released on Thursday, September 24, 2026, this project represents his second release under his own record label, Copar Music. The EP signifies a pivotal moment, as Álvarez shifts his focus to traditional mariachi music.
The four-song EP, "Ranchero de Corazón," showcases classic mariachi arrangements, offering a departure from the norteño and banda genres for which Álvarez is widely recognized. He described mariachi music as sacred, and this project holds deep personal meaning, especially with his family rooted in Guadalajara.
Produced by Álvarez, the EP features compositions from long-time collaborator Alfonso de la Cruz Pecas, along with Hansen Flores and César Estrada Moreno. Álvarez has a history of significant achievements, including being the first Latin artist to sell out three consecutive shows at Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium in 2025.
Recently, on Thursday night, Álvarez hosted a private event in Guadalajara to introduce artists signed to his label. He also has two major concerts scheduled at Estadio Jalisco on September 25 and 26, 2026, with the latter being part of his tour with Alfredo Olivas.
