Ninety-six-year-old Hollywood legend Julie Newmar has voiced her opinion that men are best suited to lead the entertainment industry. The iconic actress, who famously portrayed Catwoman in the 1960s Batman series, shared in a recent interview that she believes men do an exceptional job running studios and that their approach has historically proven effective.
Newmar explained her perspective by stating, "I love men too much. I understand them." She elaborated that while studio heads may act assertively, their methods ultimately work well, and "men are very good to women." She concluded that men "should be" leading the studios because "They do it best."
Beyond her views on industry leadership, Newmar also touched upon personal career anecdotes. She recalled the challenges she faced due to her 6-foot stature, such as having to stoop while dancing with Fred Astaire in the 1953 musical The Band Wagon. This, she suggested, made her difficult to cast as she was "not ordinary enough."
