Apple Studios is nearing a greenlight for a new limited dramedy series tentatively titled "Nanny Squatter." The show is set to star acclaimed actresses Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Cecily Strong. Both actresses are also attached as executive producers on the project.
The series draws inspiration from the New York Magazine article of the same name by Bindu Bansinath. It will focus on a couple whose lives take an unsettling turn after inviting a seemingly ideal caregiver into their home, leading to blurred boundaries and a significant power struggle.
Mary Bronstein is slated to write, direct, and serve as showrunner for "Nanny Squatter." She recently directed the critically acclaimed film "If I Had Legs I'd Kick You." Louis-Dreyfus is a highly decorated actress with numerous Emmy Awards, while Strong is well-known for her roles on "Saturday Night Live" and "Schmigadoon!"
