JJK Modulo Trailer Ignites Anime Adaptation Hopes

A visually striking 30-second animated trailer for Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has been released by Studio MAPPA, the same animation studio behind the original Jujutsu Kaisen series. This trailer was launched on April 30, 2026, to coincide with the release of Volume 3, the concluding volume of the Modulo manga spin-off.

Volume 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo was released on May 1, 2026, following Volume 1 in January and Volume 2 in March of the same year. The trailer features Maru, the main character, alongside Yuka and Tsurugi, hinting at a darker narrative with new races and intense battles. Notably, the trailer includes appearances by Mahito and Yuji Itadori, as well as a highly anticipated fight between Dabura and Divine General Mahoraga.

Despite the trailer's quality and fan excitement, an official anime adaptation announcement is still pending. Industry speculation suggests that any Modulo anime adaptation might arrive around 2029 or 2030, potentially after the main Jujutsu Kaisen anime finishes adapting its remaining arcs, such as the Culling Game and Shinjuku Showdown. Some fans propose that due to its shorter length, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo could be better suited for a movie or OVA release. For now, the trailer serves as a celebration of the manga's end and a strong suggestion of its future animated potential.
