While attending a table read at the Roosevelt Hotel, Greer found herself in an embarrassing situation when she couldn't afford to pay the valet service for her car. She was so broke that she had to call a friend for help from a lobby payphone.

Matthew McConaughey, who starred alongside Greer in the film, overheard her conversation and stepped in to assist. He generously offered Greer $20, allowing her to retrieve her vehicle. Greer expressed her gratitude and mortification, calling McConaughey her 'hero' for his timely intervention. She fondly remembered McConaughey's pleasant demeanor on set, noting his consistent presence with pajamas and Yerba Mate.
