Dame Judi Dench: The Rat, The Ball, and The Revenge

Dame Judi Dench recounted a peculiar childhood prank from her youth. During her early years, Dench, now 91, admitted to pushing a dead rat through her neighbor's door.

This unusual act was a form of retribution. Her brothers had frequently lost cricket balls over the fence to a neighbor, Miss Lazenby, who consistently refused to return them. Dench detailed how the boys found a deceased rat in a barn, packaged it, and tasked her with delivering it through Miss Lazenby's door.

Dench's professional life is marked by extraordinary success. Her career, which began in 1957, spans seven decades and includes an Academy Award, a Tony Award, and numerous other accolades. She is also remembered for her role as M in the James Bond film series.
