In just a few months, punk rock trio Joyce Manor will be releasing their first album in more than 3 years. Titled "I Used to Go to This Bar," the record is scheduled to hit shelves on January 30, 2026, via Epitaph Records.
The band has now unveiled the lead single from the upcoming album, "Well, Whatever It Was," along with an equally entertaining music video. Directed by Lance Bangs, the video satirizes the popular British baking competition show The Great British Bake Off, with a lineup of iconic British rock stars taking on the roles of contestants.
Viewers will be treated to a gloomy Robert Smith, the bickering Gallagher brothers from Oasis, a curmudgeonly Morrissey, and a masterful Kate Bush, all competing in a cooking competition called "The UK Rock Bake Off." Of course, the members of Joyce Manor themselves also make an appearance, showcasing their own culinary skills.
According to the band's frontman Barry Johnson, the song itself is a quintessential California punk rock track, blending influences from Jane's Addiction, Beach Boys, Weezer, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. With production by Bad Religion's Brett Gurewitz, the track is sure to get fans excited for the upcoming album.
