Joy Crookes Dazzles at Montreux Jazz Festival

British artist Joy Crookes delivered a mesmerizing performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival on Thursday, July 9th, as part of the event's 60th anniversary. She graced the stage at the newly renovated Stravinski Auditorium, which now boasts modern amenities and panoramic views of Lake Geneva.

Crookes showcased a dynamic setlist, featuring fan favorites like "Feet Don't Fail Me Now" and tracks from her latest album, "Juniper." Her performance included "Forever," a song tenderly dedicated to the people of Palestine. She also unveiled two new songs: "Chop Chop Chop Chop Honey," inspired by her Bangladeshi heritage, and "Painkiller," a reflection on toxic relationships.

The Montreux Jazz Festival, continuing until July 18th, is renowned for its eclectic programming. This year's lineup includes Grammy winner John Legend, who shared personal stories alongside his music, and other notable artists such as Zara Larsson, Deep Purple, and Lewis Capaldi. The festival also offers free stages, ensuring accessibility for all.

Festival CEO Mathieu Jaton emphasized the event's commitment to tradition while embracing the future, highlighting a new generation of artists. He cited RAYE's curated set with surprise guests Mark Ronson and Alicia Keys as a highlight, and noted the upcoming closing performances by Van Morrison and James Taylor.
