Fifty-five years ago, Joni Mitchell released her critically acclaimed album, 'Blue'. To commemorate this milestone, a special audio upgrade has been issued. Rhino High Fidelity has unveiled limited-edition audiophile pressings of the album, available on both reel-to-reel tape and vinyl.
The vinyl reissue has been meticulously cut from the original master tapes, pressed onto 180-gram vinyl, and is strictly limited to 5,000 individually numbered copies. This special release also includes an album insert featuring a newly conducted question-and-answer session with Joni Mitchell herself.
Further enhancing the exclusivity, the reel-to-reel edition was duplicated in real time directly from the original flat analog master tape. This ultra-limited version is restricted to a mere 350 copies worldwide.
Originally released on June 22, 1971, 'Blue' is widely regarded as one of the greatest pop and rock albums ever created. The deeply personal songwriting, inspired by Mitchell's relationships, produced timeless hits such as "A Case of You" and "River." The album reached number 15 on the Billboard 200 chart and has since been certified Platinum by the RIAA.
