In 1965, he wrote the original theme for the science fiction series "Lost in Space." This series, which ran for three seasons until 1968, followed the Robinson family's adventures after their spaceship was thrown off course.
Williams, then credited as "Johnny Williams," composed the main theme used during the show's first two seasons. Demonstrating his versatility, he later created a new, more energetic theme for "Lost in Space" for its third and final season. These compositions preceded his later collaborations with directors like Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.
