John Summit's Experts Only label, established in 2022, has rapidly ascended to prominence, earning the No. 1 position on Beatport's rankings for top-selling labels in the first half of 2025. The label's name reflects a commitment to high-quality productions, with Summit emphasizing that the music must "sound like it's been made by experts."

The label's ethos centers on "hard-hitting club music that can have intricate melodies and vocals." This distinctive sound has been cultivated by new artists like Devault, Roddy Lima, and Max Styler, alongside established acts such as Kaskade and Anabel Englund.

Summit, acting as CEO and chief A&R, personally reviews hundreds of daily demos, ensuring only meticulously crafted tracks are released. The label maintains a curated approach with only a few releases per month to avoid "slop."

Supporting the label's rapid growth is a highly capable team. This includes Toby Andrews, former president of Astralwerks, serving as label manager, and Jack David, formerly of Universal Music Group, as head of marketing. Their expertise handles crucial operational aspects that Summit acknowledges are beyond his immediate knowledge.

Experts Only operates with the agility of an independent imprint, allowing for spontaneous releases. This flexibility was highlighted by Summit's ability to release a track on a Friday after discovering it on a Wednesday, bypassing typical industry bureaucracy.

The label's success extends beyond digital charts, with its first-ever festival held over two days on New York's Randalls Island in 2025. Further events are planned, including a return to Randalls Island in the fall, following Summit's eight-week summer residency at Ibiza's UNVRS club.

During his extended sets at venues like UNVRS, Summit plans to showcase tracks from his new album, representing the "John Summit side," alongside demos for Experts Only, offering "the best of both worlds scenario."
