Netflix is developing a television series adaptation of Jodi Picoult's 2020 novel, 'The Book of Two Ways'. Matthew B. Roberts, who has extensive experience with the 'Outlander' franchise, will pen the script and serve as executive producer and showrunner.
Sony Pictures Television is producing the series, with Roberts currently under an overall deal with the studio. This adaptation brings a new project to Roberts, who also developed the 'Outlander' prequel, 'Blood of My Blood.'
'The Book of Two Ways' tells the story of Dawn Edelstein, a woman who survives a plane crash and is presented with two distinct life paths. She must decide between returning to her husband and child or embracing a past in Egyptology and a former lover.
