Summary
- JioHotstar's entertainment catalogue now accessible in MENA.
- Partnership integrates JioHotstar content within STARZPLAY app.
- Service offers multilingual Indian content for diaspora.
JioHotstar has officially expanded its streaming services into the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This latest international venture follows successful launches in the UK, Canada, and Singapore. The platform has joined forces with STARZPLAY to offer its extensive entertainment catalogue to audiences across MENA.
Under this new agreement, JioHotstar's content will be available as a dedicated section within the STARZPLAY app and website. This includes exclusive JioHotstar Originals, content from JioStar television channels, and popular film and reality franchises, all released simultaneously with their Indian debuts. The service will be accessible through STARZPLAY's PLUS plan for AED 34.99 per month, offering a library of entertainment in multiple Indian languages.
Additionally, STARZPLAY's MAX plan, priced at AED 49.99 per month, will combine JioHotstar's entertainment offerings with STARZPLAY's sports portfolio, including live cricket. This strategic move aims to tap into the substantial South Asian diaspora in MENA and satisfy the growing demand for diverse, multilingual entertainment. JioHotstar boasts over 500 million monthly active users and a vast library of programming.
STARZPLAY, with its 2.3 million subscribers, brings regional expertise and a robust streaming platform to the partnership. The combined offering will provide audio tracks in up to 10 languages, with a significant focus on Malayalam content to serve the region's Malayali audience. Key shows like *Koffee with Karan* and *Bigg Boss* will be available across multiple languages.
