John F. Kennedy Jr., a prominent figure of the 1990s, made a notable guest appearance on the acclaimed CBS sitcom 'Murphy Brown.' This appearance took place shortly before the debut of 'George,' the magazine he founded in 1995.
Kennedy's intention was to introduce 'George' to a broader audience, telling The Tampa Bay Times, "I hope the show will introduce George to an audience of potential readers who clearly enjoy politically related entertainment." The episode, titled "Altered States," aired on September 18, 1995.
In the scene, JFK Jr. visited Murphy's office to present a wedding gift, a copy of 'George' with her featured on the cover. He also offered her a year's subscription to the publication.
Reflecting on the experience years later during a 2018 cast reunion, the 'Murphy Brown' cast members expressed admiration for Kennedy. Candice Bergen described him as "a god," and Joel Regalbuto commented on his extraordinary good looks.
JFK Jr. tragically passed away in 1999 following a plane crash that also claimed the lives of his wife, Carolyn Bessette, and her sister, Lauren Bessette. He was piloting the plane when it crashed into the Atlantic Ocean.
