Jesy Nelson recently revealed that her former Little Mix bandmates reached out after her twin daughters were diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA1). The singer shared this news on "This Morning," discussing her new Prime Video documentary, "Life After Little Mix." The documentary follows her challenging pregnancy, complicated by twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, and the subsequent diagnosis of her daughters, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe, with SMA.
Nelson disclosed that Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall, and Perrie Edwards contacted her, describing the interactions as "very healing" and contributing to her recovery. She explained that motherhood has given her a profound sense of purpose, making past struggles feel "trivial." The documentary also touches upon Nelson's difficult departure from Little Mix in 2020, driven by constant comparison and scrutiny.
Previously, Nelson revealed she attempted suicide days before quitting the band, feeling isolated and unsupported by her bandmates. Her mother, Janice White, played a crucial role in discovering Jesy's overdose. Nelson also expressed concern that healthcare professionals missed the early signs of SMA in her daughters, highlighting the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment for the condition.
