Pop Star Jesse McCartney Makes Surprise Hacks Appearance

Pop star Jesse McCartney recently made a surprise cameo appearance in the second episode of "Hacks" Season 5, serenading Ava at her birthday party with his 2000s hit, "Beautiful Soul." This event fulfilled a long-held dream for actress Hannah Einbinder, whose character Ava also had a poster of McCartney from his teen idol days.

The collaboration originated years ago when McCartney first contacted Einbinder via direct message after noticing the poster in the show. He expressed admiration for the series and Einbinder's performance. Einbinder reciprocated by calling herself a "stan" of his music.

McCartney's role was a brief but impactful cameo, during which he performed the song multiple times. He noted that Einbinder was visibly emotional during the filming, crying throughout many takes, which added to the authenticity of the scene. The appearance taps into the current wave of Y2K nostalgia.

Currently, McCartney is prioritizing family life, spending time with his 11-month-old son rather than embarking on extensive tours. He expressed hopes to tour again next year but is focused on cherishing moments with his child.
