Jersey Scout Band Seeks New Musicians
4 Oct
Summary
- Jersey Scout Band is actively recruiting new members island-wide.
- The band has seen a significant decrease in musicians wanting to join.
- Anyone aged eight and above can join, not just Scouts or Girl Guides.
The Jersey Scout Band is currently facing a decline in its membership numbers and has initiated a comprehensive publicity campaign across the island to attract new musicians. The band is looking for individuals aged eight years and older to join their ranks.
Recent training sessions have seen attendance drop significantly, with only 12 players present on a recent Thursday evening. Leaders within the band noted that numbers were considerably higher in the past. While the band has been performing since 1970, they are keen to emphasize that potential members do not need to be affiliated with the Scout or Girl Guide movements to learn an instrument and play with them.
