Jeremy Wade Returns With Wild "River Monsters" Stories

Jeremy Wade, the renowned biologist and host of "River Monsters," has announced his return with a new podcast, "Fish On! With Jeremy Wade." This venture promises to share "crazy stories that never made it to the screen" from the popular Animal Planet series and his other wildlife shows.

The podcast, co-hosted with friend Scott Tankard, will explore previously unheard behind-the-scenes accounts of aquatic encounters. Tankard revealed that many compelling scenes were cut from previous series simply because they were too wild for broadcast.

"Fish On!" is set to debut on Patreon on October 20th, more than nine years after the "River Monsters" finale aired in 2017. The series originally started as a single program about a fish in India but grew into a nine-season hit, launching Wade to fame.

Wade also recalled a particularly challenging filming day during the original series' run. Facing monsoon rains and treacherous river conditions, he encountered a massive, formidable fish. A dedicated camera crew managed to capture the moment of the fish's dramatic emergence from the water and Wade's subsequent capture, an event that led to Animal Planet's highest-rated premiere.
