Her former students recall her as a powerful teacher whose U.S. history lessons left a lasting impact. She specialized in the history of gender, sexuality, medicine, and race, holding a Ph.D. from the University of Houston.
A memorial service to honor Dr. Shah's life and legacy will be held on Monday, August 10, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at LCC's Rose Center for the Arts. Her academic work includes the book "Sex Ed, Segregated: The Quest for Sexual Knowledge in Progressive-Era America."
