As of October 2025, it has been revealed that renowned actress and singer Jennifer Lopez had turned down a movie role in the past that later earned another actress an Oscar nomination. Lopez admitted that this decision "haunts" her, as she likely missed out on a career-defining opportunity.
Separately, talent agency WME and the Group Effort Initiative, a non-profit organization co-founded by actor Ryan Reynolds, have joined forces to present the next installment of the NXT Industry Sessions. This free virtual program, running from October 27 to November 21, 2025, aims to "democratize access to the entertainment industry" by providing industry insights and networking chances for aspiring professionals.
While the full speaker lineup is yet to be announced, WME has confirmed that Reynolds, the co-founder of Group Effort Initiative, will be among the featured speakers. The program will offer case studies, quizzes, an industry terminology handbook, and live Q&A sessions, allowing participants to engage directly with entertainment industry executives. Upon completing the NXT program, attendees will be invited to an in-person networking and career day event at WME's offices in New York and Los Angeles.
