- Affleck's production company Artists Equity is behind the film adaptation
- Affleck praises Lopez's performance and work ethic in the lead role

In October 2025, former spouses Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck reunited publicly for the first time since their divorce was finalized earlier that year. The occasion was the New York red-carpet screening of the film Kiss of the Spider Woman, in which Lopez plays the lead role of Ingrid Luna/Aurora/The Spider Woman.
Affleck's production company, Artists Equity, is one of the producers behind the film, which is an adaptation of the 1976 novel by Argentine author Manuel Puig. In an interview on the red carpet, Affleck expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying he is "as proud of this movie as any that I've ever been involved with." He also praised Lopez's performance, stating that she was "born to play" the title role and that she "just was going to give it her all and she did."
Affleck highlighted Lopez's work ethic, noting that "early on in Jennifer's involvement in this... she just was going to give it her all and she did. She worked enormously hard." He is confident that audiences will be impressed by "all of her many gifts" and her ability to capture the essence of the classic musical genre.
Despite the Oscar buzz surrounding the film since its Sundance Film Festival premiere earlier in the year, Affleck maintained that his personal standard for success is not determined by awards season, but rather by his own genuine appreciation for the quality of the work. "I like to try to develop my own standard for what I really like and think is great, and as such, I'm enormously proud of the movie. I always will be. I love this movie."
