A new French adaptation of the classic swashbuckler "Zorro," starring Oscar winner Jean Dujardin, is set to premiere on MHz Choice in the U.S. and Canada on June 30.
The eight-episode series, titled "Zorro," is a French reimagining of the iconic masked hero. It is set in 1821 Los Angeles, where Don Diego de la Vega unexpectedly becomes the city's mayor. Faced with financial troubles caused by a greedy businessman, Don Emmanuel, Diego must embrace his Zorro persona once more to protect the city.
This adaptation explores Diego's struggle to reconcile his dual identity as mayor and Zorro, all while keeping his secret from his wife, Gabriella. The series promises a delightful blend of spectacular action, romantic comedy, and classic swashbuckling, infused with a unique French sensibility.
"Zorro" was created by Benjamin Charbit and Noé Debré, with direction by Jean-Baptiste Saurel and Emilie Noblet. The series was filmed in Spain and co-produced by Paramount+, France Télévisions, and other production companies. Alongside the main series, MHz Choice will also release a "Making Of" special.
