Abhishek Bachchan Shares Intimate Insight into Mother Jaya's Sensitive Side

In an interview last month, Abhishek recalled an incident from the set of Jaya's 1990s film 'Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa', where she was visibly disturbed after filming a scene where she had to identify the body of her character's deceased son. Abhishek, who was an assistant director at the time, noticed his mother's distress and inquired about it. Jaya shared that she had difficulty understanding the emotions required for the scene, until the director, Govind Nihalani, gave her a specific direction to imagine that the body was Abhishek's.

Abhishek explained that this type of direction, while seemingly harsh, is often necessary for actors to tap into their personal experiences and emotions to make a performance truly authentic. "Even if he had not said that, that's what she would have imagined to make that emotion real. You bring a lot of your personal stuff into your work," Abhishek said.
