She has expressed a preference for photographers to maintain distance and not capture her while she is walking, asking them to wait until she is in a stationary position to pose.

He recalled that initially, Jaya would question the photographers' origins and their reasons for taking her pictures. While she is gradually adapting to the situation, she has been known to admonish those who capture her from unfavorable angles or intrude upon her space.

In 2025, at the 'We The Women' event, she openly stated her "zero" relationship with paparazzi, contrasting it with her positive connection to traditional media. She questioned their role in representing the public, expressing respect for journalists, a profession her father once held.
