Jaya Bachchan defends Agastya: 'No power can change his destiny'

Veteran actress Jaya Bachchan has responded to industry speculation that her frequent public altercations with paparazzi might be casting a shadow over her grandson Agastya Nanda's nascent film career.

Amidst Agastya's theatrical debut in 'Ikkis' and his OTT debut in 'The Archies,' both of which underperformed, whispers suggested a link between Jaya's media rapport and his professional reception. However, Jaya Bachchan firmly dismissed these claims, asserting that "no power on earth can change my grandson's destiny." She emphasized that if Agastya is meant to be a star, nothing can prevent it.

Drawing a parallel to her husband Amitabh Bachchan's career, she recalled, "At the peak of his stardom, Amitji was banned by the press for almost 15 years. Did that affect his career?" Jaya Bachchan maintains that her personal interactions with the press have no bearing on Agastya's professional journey, stating that he will develop his own relationship with the media.

Previously, Jaya has lauded Agastya's determination and unique approach. She noted his reliance on family guidance, particularly from her and her husband, as his parents are not actors. Jaya highlighted Agastya's focus, stating he is determined to forge his own path, much like she did, and will not follow the herd.
