Ex-Model Jason Lewis Builds Epic Fantasy World in Costa Rica

Jason Lewis, known for his role on Sex and the City, has embarked on an ambitious literary journey, writing a sprawling nine-book epic fantasy series from his new home in Costa Rica. Three years ago, Lewis relocated from California to pursue this passion project, which he describes as being closer to "Lord of the Rings" with a "hard magic" system influenced by physics concepts. He has adopted a disciplined routine, waking at 4 a.m. daily to write, aiming for 1,000 to 2,000 words per session.

Lewis's series is structured as three interconnected trilogies, with the first book he plans to release being book seven in the overall saga. This narrative approach begins with an idealistic tale, moves into the corruption of good intentions, and concludes with redemption. He draws parallels between the themes in his books and his own experiences with external validation and the desire to belong, stemming from his past as a male supermodel. Lewis is carefully navigating his return to public life, focusing on building community rather than performative self-promotion.
