Jared Leto Praises 'Tron: Ares' as Timely Exploration of AI Ethics

The highly anticipated Disney science-fiction film 'Tron: Ares' is scheduled to hit theaters this week, and its lead actor Jared Leto believes the movie's release could not have been better timed. Speaking at the London premiere, Leto observed that the film's primary focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a major topic of discussion in recent years.

Leto, who has been involved with the project for nearly a decade, noted that AI was not a mainstream conversation when the film's development first began. "Now everybody's talking about everybody's using it, whether they know it or not; it's all part of our lives in some way," he said. Leto's co-star Jodie Turner-Smith echoed this sentiment, stating that the film's exploration of AI ethics became even more timely during the production process, which took place around a year and a half ago.

The actors emphasized that 'Tron: Ares' does not provide definitive answers about AI, but rather aims to engage the audience in the ongoing ethical questions surrounding this rapidly evolving technology. "We don't have any answers for AI in the state of the world, but we are living in the question, and we're asking people to be in the question with us about ethics, about how we keep AI human-centered," Turner-Smith explained.
