Jane McDonald: Never Loved Ex-Husband Henrik

Jane McDonald has confessed she was never in love with her ex-husband, Henrik Brixen, and believes his decision to end their eight-year marriage was for the best. The singer shared this revelation during an appearance on the Table Manners podcast.

McDonald reflected on her 2001 Las Vegas shows, stating her marriage was already on the brink. She described Brixen as a 'nice guy' but admitted she was the only one unaware of her lack of romantic feelings, despite their very public wedding. She noted his reluctance to engage with the 'game' of the music industry.

Following her separation from Brixen in 2003, McDonald rekindled her relationship with teenage sweetheart Eddie Rothe. Tragically, Rothe died of lung cancer in 2021. McDonald recently shared that she misses him every day and is learning to balance grief with joy.

In her 2019 autobiography, McDonald detailed feeling lonely in her marriage after children were ruled out. She explained how her manager husband's role impacted their relationship, making her feel like a product before she eventually fired him as her manager.
